Hello,
After the model call, I did an unintentional/intentional model as follow-up. Will you take a look and let me know if you think I am on the right track or if you have suggestions?
Thanks,
Kathleen
Unintentional:
C: 10 people at the party complimented me on my weight loss, told me how great I looked
T: I want to blend in, I want to hide, I don’t want people to notice my body changes. Hiding make me feel safe, like no one will notice me and if they don’t notice me they won’t hurt me.
F: Anxious
A: Worry about people noticing me, fear that being noticed will lead to me being hurt again, want to not go out to parties
F: Continue to believe that I will feel better if I blend in and hide, continue to wish that people wouldn’t notice me.
Intentional:
C: 10 people at the party complimented me on my weight loss, told me how great I looked
T: The compliments were thoughtful and well intentioned. People are happy for me that I am looking and feeling better. The hurts of my past were a long time ago and I am different now, life is different now.
F: Confident
A: Accept the compliments for how they were intended. Notice when my brain turns the compliments into a negative event. Continue to work on my thought work and seek coaching advice. Continue to follow my protocol and work toward my goals.
R: Believe that the compliments are thoughtful and well intentioned. Accept that people are happy for me. Work to believe that what other people think of me does not matter, so what if they notice my weight loss, I am doing this for me. Know that it is how I think about my new body that matters and it is my thoughts that make me feel confident. Show up for myself in a way that makes me proud.
