Brooke, this is related to my other question but I decided to ask this in a different question because its a different concept I’m having trouble with.
C: Looking for new job. People have asked me why I took a departure from my earlier career and now looking to get back to my core skills.
T: I am less employable because I have a break in my work experience
F: Anxious
A: Be defensive in the interview
R: Don’t get new job
I see that my default thought makes it more challenging for me to get a job. But I also feel like this is close to reality. If I was hiring someone for a similar role, I myself would not hire a candidate with a departure (from the core skills) in their experience. I don’t find it surprising that people would prioritize me lower than someone with continuous experience.

T: My different work experience makes me more valuable to employers
F: Confident
A: Interview well
R: Get the job
I would like to adopt the Intentional model, but am I deluding myself by trying to adopt the intentional model? I feel like this is not being self-aware because I’m forcing a new thought when everything tells me otherwise.
What should I do?
