I don’t have many friends here anymore but earlier today an old friend texted me that a mutual friend was visiting and asked if I’d like to meetup. I told her that I would love that and to let me know when they went out and I would go meet them. She sent me a message that said, “Heading out!,” and I responded, “Great where should I meet you?”. She didn’t respond but we live in a small town and I just figured I’d go downtown and park and by that time she would have responded with their plan and where they were going. I texted her when I got close to downtown and said, “I’m parking downtown,” and after I parked I tried calling her but she didn’t answer. I texted, “Hey! Where are you guys?,” and then I waited in my car for 20 minutes. I ended up leaving and I heard back from her an hour later but I was already home. I’ve had a lot of painful thoughts about this and I felt very sad and alone from those thoughts.
