fueling early morning workouts during fasting period

Hi Brooke
I am runner and have been running 3-4 mornings per week (for my mental health, not weight loss). I am now trying intermittent fasting and am finding myself hungry on my runs, feeling low energy and not able to push as hard during my training runs. On days when I don’t run, I feel slightly hungry but am able to manage any urges and maintain my 12-hour fasting window without too much problem so I think I am fat adapted or close to it. I am wondering if fueling with some sort of fat (ie. almonds) prior to running would not break the fast as they do not tend to spike insulin. Prior to starting intermittent fasting, I would usually eat a protein bar but it has added sugar in it so I am avoiding it now. Any suggestions to fuel my training without breaking the fast?
