Generate Feelings


When I realize a thought is not helping me I’m learning to change my thought to something that is what I want to think and believe serves me in the life I desire to live.
What can I do to generate the desired feelings when the new thoughts don’t help me feel good, better or successful?
For example, I can write a list of things I am grateful for but that it doesn’t change my feelings.
The thoughts I don’t want to think will come to mind and sometimes bring tears to my eyes quite instantly.
What can I do to generate the desired feelings when the new thoughts I choose don’t help me feel good?
