Hello! I have an acquaintance I have been wanting to become better friend with for a while but I had a belief that it was impossible. Now I am questioning that and realizing that it is just a thought. I want to make becoming friends with her a goal, but I’m wondering if it is a bad idea to have a goal that involves someone else? I know we are supposed to stay out of other peoples business and her opinion of me has to do with her, not me. But can I still make becoming better friends with her a goal? It seems like believing that we already are better friends would definitely help me becoming better friends with her rather than feeling awkward about trying to get to know her, which is where I’m at now! But my brain is telling me my goal is too dependent on her opinion about me. Any help would be great! Thank you!
