I find that in the past when I’ve reached great goals, I feel proud and then relax and backslide. I don’t hold the result for very long. Kind of like the marathon example you’ve given. “You cross the finish line and sit down and there is relief. Pressure’s off.” THIS IS WHAT I DO. I just take my foot off of the gas. Which throws me into the commit/quit/despair cycle (even though it doesn’t seem like quitting because I actually accomplished the goal).
Have you ever experienced this? What is your process for deliberately continuing to spiral up even after you’ve achieved lofty goals?
Thanks,
Melissa
