Going with your gut

I was just asked to read a new book by an author who teaches the neuroscience behind why “going with your gut” is a bad idea.

I don’t believe I’ve heard Brooke talk about this subject before.

I think the “gut instinct” that people refer to is the primitive brain so it would make sense what the author is saying about how the gut isn’t the best decision maker.

On the other hand, the prefrontal cortex is a better choice since it is the reasoning part of the brain.

Using your head (prefrontal) instead of your gut (primitive) is a better choice when making decisions.

What are the LCS’s teachings on gut instinct?
