Habit or Thought

I noticed that sometimes Brooke doesn’t think someone should do a model but just go into action and stop analyzing. When do you do one versus the other (e.g. on a recent call, she uses an analogy and advises someone to just “get up from the chair” instead of doing a model about why she should or should not get up).

I noticed that I repeatedly spiral and replay self-critical thoughts like a broken record. E.g. if I made a mistake at work, I will replay the scene over and over again with critical thoughts.

Using Brooke’s approach above, should I continue to find the thoughts that I’m thinking and do intentional models from them OR should I just “get up from the chair?” Is this just a habit that I’ve started and just have to stop by deciding?
