I have a frequently occurring thought that “my husband doesn’t appreciate me”. I am trying to come up with a new thought that serves me.
For example last night and this morning I did a lot of cleaning, disrupted my MH1 to bring in groceries because he was busy, etc. and I’m not sure if he even noticed.
Unintentional model:
C: Husband didn’t say “thank you” after I cleaned and brought the groceries in
T: He doesn’t appreciate me
F: Resentment
A: Seethe, make snide comments/snap the next time we talk or ignore him and don’t respond when he tries to connect
R: Husband pulls away and doesn’t appreciate me
With my intentional model, I don’t know what my new thought should be. I know I want to feel appreciated as either my F or R:
C: Husband didn’t say “thank you” after I cleaned and brought the groceries in
T: I appreciate myself??
F: Appreciation
A: ??
R: ??
