Help with Going Unconscious

Hi there,

I’m working on my overconsumption (mostly eating/drinking, also shopping, scrolling, etc) and I am trying to get at the root feeling that I am feeling so I can start to identify the thoughts and work through them. What I am noticing is that I tend to “black out” and go unconscious – either just mentally or using alcohol/marijuana to dull my mind so I feel less bad about what I’m doing. I know that going unconscious is a choice I’m making and I’m trying to get at the underlying feelings and thoughts I’m trying to avoid but I’m having trouble identifying them. Do you have any suggestions for this? I tried to do a model with “going unconscious” but unsure what like – would that be an action?
