Hi Brooke,
I tend to get caught in thought loops and can get depressed by situations in my life. In those circumstances I find it best to be on my own and work through my thoughts as I have learned in SCS. Sometime this process can take a long time which doesn’t seem to be ok with my wife. She gets upset with me when I am down. She doesn’t experience negative emotions like I do and she expects me to be like her more. I end up trying to hide my bad mood from her to keep the peace. Unfortunately, it eventually comes out that I am upset about something because we spend a lot of time together and it is hard to pretend to be happy all the time. She then gets upset with me and tells me that I should just get over it. I realize this whole dynamic is wrong, but I don’t know how to correct it. Can you help me figure a way to keep the peace while I am processing my thoughts?
