Every month a group of us get together to discuss books and chat about what’s new in our lives. I can easily stay on protocol (no sugar, no flour) when I am a guest at these events, but it seems more difficult to host. There’s an expectation for a salt, sugary snacks and a special dessert. I can offer these to my guests and not eat them, but the guests seem to take the “clue” to start eating when the host eats. Any ideas? Thanks.
