How to identify a thought


I notice that when I have the feeling of being out of control of my life due to external circumstances (even minor ones like the children being home from school sick when I had planned a day of uninterrupted work but especially when there is a new drama in my family of origin), the action ‘overeat’ follows.

C: Child is home sick from school
T: ?
F: Panic
A: Overeat
R: I remain at a higher weight than I’m comfortable with

The problem I’m having is that I can’t identify the thought that is driving the feeling & action in my model. Help?
