Husband doesn’t see value in coaching.

A couple of nights ago I was talking to my husband about coaching and he was on the computer doing his version of sports (simulated baseball) during COVID-19, and I asked him if he wanted to see what coaching is like. I asked him to give me a simple thing going on like lots of meetings at work due to COVID-19 and he just freaked out and said, “I don’t see any value in coaching.” What? I’m launching a coaching business, currently going through certification and have had amazing results with coaching. I know that he can’t cause any feelings in me, but I have problems when I’m blindsided or there is an unexpected response, not thinking and feeling what an asshole. I make it mean he and I are not on the same page with anything in life.
Circumstance: Husband said, “I don’t see any value in coaching.”
Thought: What a disrespectful asshole. If he hasn’t figured out how awesome coaching is by now, what the heck does he think we are investing in.
Feeling: Pissed off
Action: Argue without using coaching skills
Result: Conflict
I don’t think this is the best result. Should I do a thought model on the thought I have above that I struggle not to blame him when I feel blindsided? I suppose that’s just a thought as well.
