Hi. My husband drinks a few beers on the weekends, and I quit drinking completely about 2 years ago. His drinking usually doesn’t bother me but lately I’m starting to feel irritated when we are on the couch and he has had a few. He starts “pawing” me or poking me in my ribs. He says he is just teasing me, but he doesn’t do this when he hasn’t been drinking. I tell him to stop and he’s like “what I can’t touch you?” Last night I set a boundary and said “When you do this, and I’ve asked you once to stop and you don’t, I’m just going to go to another part of the house”. A part of me feels guilty though because he sees it as he is just being affectionate. Am I being uptight? We generally have a great marriage.
