I don’t have time to work on my blog

I have been working on developing the skill of “Getting Things Done”: planning my week, putting my to-dos on the calendar since September. I am getting better at it, but still finding a lot of resistance to the process. I am still doing some buffering and procrastination. Trying not to beat myself up about it.

Right now I am having trouble prioritizing. I have a short term contract that needs a specific number of billable hours done by March 31 (that feels like a lot!). I also am developing a business based on my blog which is in the early stages of content development and getting traffic.

I am noticing that blogging isn’t getting on my calendar. I really want to develop my blog as a business because my contract work isn’t steady, reliable, or something that aligns with my interests and strengths. But I’m so anxious about getting the contract done that I feel like I “don’t have time” to work on the blog. There are only so many hours in the day so I need to make tough calls about whether to take time from self-coaching, exercise, family time, or sleep.

I don’t know how to make my calendar reflect my goals right now.
