IF when not fully no flour/no sugar

I’ve heard you and your team say not to start IF until you’ve been fat adapted for 4-6 weeks with no F/no S.My question is, I’m not currently planning on doing no F/no S completely yet. I’ve cut down on flour/sugar and I’ve started IF. Is there any ‘harm’ in doing it this way? I certainly understand the other way is better. Also, on one of the video I heard you say that you should not chew no sugar gum instead to use no sugar mints. Why is that? What’s the difference? I chew lots of no sugar gum each day and wondering if I should switch to mints and if so, how many are too many?
