Intentential model help

Good morning, Brook –

My 77 year old mom has been an alcoholic for most of my life. She has been through countless rehabs, programs, etc. and blames everything else for her drinking and insists she doesn’t have a problem. Her pattern is: drink until she is literally on the floor and unable to get up, call 911 (because we no longer come running), spend time in hospital to dry out, start over. I will not be around her drinking, however, I get the calls from the ER and hospital staff, and I pick her up and bring her home, get food in the house, etc.

These incidents are happening almost monthly now and I am feeling a lot of anxiety just waiting for the call.

Unintentional model:

C: Mom drinks until she falls down
T: Things are going to go bad again and the phone is going to ring
F: Anxiety
A: Shut down
R: I am buffering and not living my life

I am stuck on finding an intentional thought that is believable to me. I have been doing models in other areas of my life but I can’t seem to get this one.

Help and thank you,

Wendy
