Intermittent Fasting and Hormones

I love intermittent fasting and have been doing it from 12-8pm with no issues for years (though now I need to quit the sugar and emotional eating/overeating). However, I have PCOS (thus, hormonal issues) and I’ve heard from various doctors that intermittent fasting isn’t a good idea for women who are still ovulating (but is ideal for men and post-menopausal women). I don’t want to mess up my hormones any more than they already are (in fact, I want to fix them!). Can you speak to the science or evidence that intermittent fasting is just fine for women pre-menopause? Thank you!
