How does intuition work with the model?

For example, I had a bad feeling about a professor and being alone with him. I rejected many of his invitations to come to his office. Later I found out that he attempted (thankfully unsuccessfully) to rape a student.

C: Invitation to Office
T: I should take him up on his offer because I need help with the class.
A: Once I took action and started walking with him;
F: I had a feeling of distrust and danger
R: made up an excuse and didn’t go back to his office with him.

How can you differentiate between your unconscious brain providing warnings of real danger versus warnings where the danger is not real?
