Is anticipating Failure A Kind Of Buffering ?

Dear coaches, from my model today, I wonder if being so willing to fail epically: going to a work opportunity by saying to my self (for the best it works, at least it is an epic fail I now know I need to achieve for my big goal 2020) is not a king of buffering.

By buffering, I mean that in the moment I think “I go to this work opportunity but with some candy in my pocket” (ie candies being if it does not work for me). Isn’t that a way to go to a more positive emotion instead of being full uncomfortable by giving all my self to this new professional opportunity? Thank you very much in advance for your response!
