Is it possible to process a panic attack?

Is it possible to process the “panic” feeling that comes with a panic attack?

I have had a few in the last few days and the thoughts are: “I’m going to die” “There’s no escaping this” “I’m out of control” “I’m doomed” “I’m all alone”.

When I try to “open up” to the feeling of panic, the feeling becomes so intense that I start to shake, my heart starts to beat faster and the feeling of doom becomes so strong that I become afraid I’ll never recover.

Are there some emotions we shouldn’t try to process? Like Pandora’s box?
