Is Regretful an Indulgent Emotion?

I was just doing my model for today, and in the UM, my feeling was ‘Regretful’. I had listed as my circumstance ‘Not fully completing my calendar for the past two days.

I put regretful down as an emotion I should want to feel, but when I explored the why, it seemed like I all I was doing was using it to beat myself up to push me to do things, and that didn’t sound like a helpful emotion at all. However, it seems like there SHOULD be times when regretful is the right emotion, otherwise, wouldn’t that just make me a sociopath with no empathy? Your thoughts?
