(Jessica) Intense feelings

I am noticing all my feelings are more intense. This means when I feel gratitude I feel so full and thankful, when I feel overwhelmed I feel intense anxiety, when I am sad I want to cry, when I am happy I am so happy. Is this because I have significantly decreased my buffering with alcohol, food and drama and I am noticing my thoughts? I am so glad to know I will feel bad 50% of the time because otherwise I would think I had a chemical imbalance, LOL!
