Hi Brooke, could you help clarify the sacrificial love for me? I know there is unconditional love where you love another as they are. What then is sacrificial love that I hear people talk about? I know there’s a love that parents would take a bullet for their children, but then there’s sayings like sacrifice your time for someone else. What does that mean? Or in marriage you “die to yourself for your spouses needs.” Isn’t there space to just allow both of you to be there? Can’t I love me and love my spouse if we both decide we don’t want to do the dishes tonight? Or he wants me to get the dishes done then at that point I can decide what’s best for me while loving him right?
