Managing Rest Time

Yesterday’s Feb work had me choose “replenished” as how I want to feel, and I chose “I am restoring my energy” and “I am feeling stronger” as my causative thoughts. I learned that these may not have been the right thoughts, as I didn’t feel replenished. (But hey – I learned something new! 🙂

I’m doing a TDL on what replenishment looks like, and learned that it’s an interesting dichotomy between “doing nothing” (e.g. watching Hulu, knitting, reading fiction – what I would think of as “restful” activities”), and things that take effort but then feel good on their accomplishment (e.g. going for a walk, preparing meals for the next few days, doing SCS and other personal work).

On weekdays I’ve been practicing feeling focused and determined – which looks like pre-planning and time-blocking activities. On the weekend, when I want to replenish, I’m thinking that time-blocking may bring too much of a “pushing” sensation, and thus not contribute to generating replenishment.

Would love your direction / thoughts on this? Is there a particular podcast or lesson that addresses this?
Work in progress, for sure – sticking with the discomfort of figuring it out. 🙂 Thanks!
