My mom and step-dad go to Florida every winter. I have a whole story about how she behaves down there and how I think she should behave. Specifically around her lack of communication with me and my family.

My mind wants to tell you this whole story about why she should have acted different in a certain instance, but I’ll cut to the model I created instead.

C- Mom didn’t call/text yesterday to see how I was feeling
T- She’s busy in her Florida life and forgets about me
F- Anger
A- Act angry to her when I do talk to her; vent with others about it; make it mean she doesn’t care about me; act passive aggressive toward her.
R- I put tension in the relationship
