Monday Hour One – Focus Time

I am a behavior intervention classroom teacher and have very little structure throughout my day which would make scheduling a 2 hour focus impossible during the work day. I am actively teaching or dealing with a behavior that has come up the majority of the school day.

I am up for a position in the same school to be the Behavior Resource Specialist that requires total flexibility as I respond to behaviors throughout the building as they occur. I would spend the majority of my day on the go.

I am just now going through the Monday Hour One modules and have a question about focus time. Would it be acceptable to just have a 1 hour focus time some days when I get home after school before I begin dinner etc.? I could do 2 hours with no interruptions maybe 2 weekdays and for sure on Saturday and Sunday then just one hour the other weekdays.

I want to follow the system as closely as possible. I get up at 4:30 but workout for 30 minutes then get ready for work. I have scheduled Monday Hour One for 4:00am and just won’t work out that day. Our school day is 7:00 – 3:00 and I have 30 minute drive time each way. I go to bed at 9:00pm each night. Any suggestions you have regarding focus time planning would be appreciated.
