Mother’s passing

My mother passed this Christmas. She was slowly over time getting worse so we knew it wouldn’t be much longer. I spent that day and the next crying over her passing but I truly feel she is in a much better place. As I go about my day to day tasks I feel fine and I can even talk about her without crying or feeeling emotional. I am not sure if this is because I am avoiding feeling or if I am confident in my beliefs. I know when we have her funeral I will again shed tears for her passing. Can you shed some light on how I can know if I am avoiding the grief?

Thank you.
