My Boss – 2

Just now, I wrote in about my boss. A few minutes after submitting, I had some more insights on how I could think about the situation to empower myself. I would still appreciate a coach’s perspective, but did want to add on an intentional model that occurred to me:

C: I a female minority working for a boss with whom I and other minorities have reported discriminatory behaviors from.
T: I commit to myself to make professional choices that support my long-term goals, even if that means staying in this circumstance.
F: Empowered
A: Look for jobs, look into franchise opportunities, take lessons, educate myself on new career paths, listen to podcasts that inspire me to take action
R: Every day I make small choices that support my long-term goals.

Another way of looking at it:
C: I a female minority working for a boss with whom I and other minorities have reported discriminatory behaviors from.
T: It’s up to me to look out for myself.
F: Empowered
A: Keep radar up for other opportunities, spend my time how I see fit, learn how to “work the system” in this situation, learn how to advocate for myself, practice finding ways to make things more fair for myself at work (e.g., going around my boss, shaping the job to suit my needs, learning how to influence in less obvious ways).
R: I build the skills to look out for myself in any situation.
