Hi Brooke,
I’ve been listening to the 34 How to be a life coach podcast episodes and here are a few questions: does the location matter if I use Skype or Zoom anyway? What about gender?
My target was adults learning English who have had no success at it ever. I’ve narrowed it down now to salespeople instead of any grown-ups. Should I also limit the way they learn – on their own, with a tutor, in a class?
Narrowing my target has helped me come up with a name and I’m thinking of coaching 50 customers, for free, to start with as is suggested in The Prosperous Coach (a very good read – thank you!). I’ll ask my former students to look for friends or family members who match my customers’ profile. Any other recommendations would be most welcome!
As to my programme, here are the 6 parts (I love the way you suggest 6 parts for 60 minutes, 6 weeks or for 6 months – neat!):
1. learning how to learn (in general)
2. learning how to learn English for trade
3. emotions
4. unintentional thoughts
5. intentional thoughts
6. wrap-up and prospects
I’m not so sure about the first two points – they seem very lengthy but absolutely necessary. As for the last one, I’m not so sure what I’ll do…
I’m reading Fluent in 3 months by Benny Lewis, which is providing me with lots of thoughts that my students use to stay stuck: “It’s hard”, “I’m not smart enough”, “I can’t focus”, etc. That’s exactly what I needed! So much fun!
Thanks for taking the time to read my questions! Have a great day, bye!
Nan
