I am grappling with my belief that not criticizing behavior (even “constructive criticism”) somehow implies that I am condoning it. Intellectually I know that I am not in charge of other people’s behavior (!) and it is not their responsibility to act in ways that I would prefer. I have been using the intentional thought, “Not criticizing does not mean I condone the behavior” but it just doesn’t feel comfortable in my gut. Any suggestions, Brooke? Thank you.
