I hear Brooke and Tyson and others talk about being grateful for paying taxes because of schools, roads, etc. but the actual facts are that more than half of US spending (I’m in the US) goes to military operations. In my opinion this a disturbing amount of money being funneled into an agency that murders people in other countries, overthrows democratic regimes, and dispossesses people of land and resources. How on earth can I really be “grateful” that my tax dollars go to this? Truthfully roads and schools are a fraction of the budget and it’s getting cut every year. I don’t feel “safer” because of the US military. Help here!
