I have diagnosed gut health issues which give rise to malabsorption and under-nourishment. I’m being treated by specialists for liver deficiency/inability to absorb fat. I’m trying to be ketogenic but I’m hungry all the time and borderline underweight. How do I then handle craving nutrient dense foods off-protocol (in my case sprouted seed bread, 90% chocolate, nuts)? Craving these is still a strong compulsion as they are concentrated reward, but eating them is counter-productive.
