Overriding Programming

Hi Brooke,

I am fairly new here and would very much like to start an exercise regimen but realized that my brain convinces me the moment it gets hard that we are about to die. Since we evolved, as you teach, to exert the least amount of effort as possible and avoid pain, which working out is literally painful as we tear our muscles, how do override this old programming and asking our brain to do that?
How do we sell to our brain the idea that this pain will not kill us and that doing this hard work is better than not doing?
