I definitely have a manual for people when it comes to responding to email/ text/ phone calls. You can say I am impatient, but is it too much to ask for a quick reply that they at last received my message?

I get into an impatient mode very quickly, especially if it’s been more than 24 hours and I have not heard from them.

Unintentional Model
C: Message sent
T: They should reply in timely manner
F: Disrespected when they don’t
A: Send another message or stew in frustration
R: Negative thoughts about how they treat me

Intentional model
C: Message sent
T: They can do whatever they want, whenever they want
F: Neutral
A: Wait to hear back without expectations
R: Grateful when they reply in timely manner

I would like to not have negative thoughts and feelings about these situations (especially when it’s someone who I love and trust – but I tend to have a more lengthy manual for them)… but I often end up with stories and frustrations when they leave me hanging.
