Permission thoughts


I would like some help figuring out the model for what I am calling ‘permission thoughts.’ I’m not seeing how the result is creating evidence for the thought in some cases.

C: Checked everything off on my to-do list
T: I got a lot done, so I can get on social media
F: Justified
A: Waste a ton of time on social media
R: Get nothing done (? this doesn’t confirm the original thought)

C: Got 6 hours of sleep
T: I’m tired, I can’t focus so it’s okay to get on social media
F: Justified
A: Waste a ton of time on social media
R: Feel even less focused

In the latter case, I can see how it is confirming the original thought, but I’m struggling with the first model. Note, I do not want to be getting on social media. I view the desire to get on social media as an urge/buffering behavior that I’d like to stop.
