Problems are forever podcast – query

In the podcast ‘problems are forever’ you mention that if we write down our obstacles and find solutions/strategies/answers we can find a clear path to our goals. The idea that every obstacle can become a to-do on the way to achieving your dream is really powerful. I really like this idea and can understand this for a concrete goal but I am wondering how I can use it to create a clear path for myself where the obstacles are harder to pin down eg negative emotions/thoughts such as shame, fear, judgement “I have failed”; “I am not good enough” etc. Is the clear path just the thought work we are doing here in scholars?
