Processing Emotions


I feel like I’ve been around here forever and I still am not quite getting how to fully process an emotion. Especially one that just keeps repeating in a negative way. I always feel like when I sit with an emotion like anger or distress that it won’t go away unless I decide not to think about the thought triggering the anger or if I can somehow get the physical “charge” out with some kind of activity. Feeling these feelings is hard. I often consciously end up choosing numbing instead because it’s far less painful.
