Something I’ve found that helps is challenge my thoughts from a devils advocate perspective. Is this ok or do you suggest always the thought model?
For example today I thought about getting a poutine after work. And from experience I know I would keep thinking about it until I bought it.
So my thought was ” one isn’t going to hurt” and I challenged myself with “would you rather this poutine or lose a few lbs by the end of this week?”
I also told myself that I could have it “one time” as a joy eat if I still wanted it by the time the weekend came. ( I know I would probably forgot about it by then 🙂
How do you find this? I find this helps as I challenge my thoughts and see if they are reasonable or not however I did not use thought model.
