I have a question about my bad credit. Although my recent credit is good, and I am doing work to pay off some of my debt, I have a lot of debt, unpaid doctor bills, collections, from many years back, and they are keeping me from being able to do a lot of things that I need to do at this point in my life, like get a car, a tiny house, anything, really, that requires decent credit. Apparently these days everything requires a credit check.

I found someone who does ‘credit repair’ who will dispute and get a lot of these things removed. But, not sure if this might be *scammy* or if I could just do some of it myself.

Anyway, my basic question is, what do you suggest is the best way for someone to rebuild credit? This may not be in your wheelhouse, and may need to go over into the business section, but, I thought I would toss it out and see…
