I’m curious about something. You mention it’s important to feel your feelings through and not avoid them.
What do you do when you feel anxiety while in the middle of an argument with someone and fight or flight mode is about to happen.
If you leave to do a thought download, is that avoiding the emotion?
Or do you stay and tell the person “I’m feeling anxiety right now” then try and sort out your thoughts in the moment?
Or mention to yourself this is anxiety, let yourself feel it and ignore the other person?
Not sure what the best course of action is.
Sometimes I’d be in the middle of an argument (with me passively listening) and suddenly I get up and run away in a fit of anxiety.
I know my thoughts caused it, but I’d love to know step-by-step what to do in those moments when there’s people around.
