review of models on my student


Dear Coaches,

can you kindly review my models- any thoughts/feedback would be much appreciated .

UIM:
C: Email from student says: “I know you’re very busy and I respect that, but I sent this letter 2 times already and took the time to revise the manuscript, and did not hear anything until this morning, the day before I leave.”
T: Student does not take responsibility for the work but finds excuses (makes it about his time spent on manuscript when I think this should be about results=quality of revision is not where it needs to be).
F: Disrespected, dismissed.
A: I argue with reality (“he should 1) acknowledge my hard work as a supervisor and the feedback I gave him, 2) understand that it is not about the time he takes but that the quality of the revision is not where it needs to be for resubmission”), complain to others, react to my negative feelings and get on a phone-call with him which is poorly timed and during which we spend more time arguing about who said what when and what it means. What I do not do: spend this time on revising my own manuscript instead (the irony!!!), revising work of the students who do produce the quality of work I expect, respect myself, think of myself as a confident supervisor.
R: No resubmission of any manuscript.

IM:

T: It is possible that this is a great opportunity to show up as the confident supervisor I can be.
F: Determined.
A: I revise my own manuscript and submit.
