Sharing the model with friends/family

When friends are facing difficult circumstances, usually i empathize with them and try and understand how difficult it is. I’m not sure to what extent I should tell my friends a change in thought can change how they feel. As I’m not their coach, it seems like I am making their experience less significant. However, I do feel this mentality could bring about a big change and I want to help them. What would you suggest I do in such a circumstance? My friends and family are not interested in the “self-help” world at all. Thanks!
