Small Problems as Buffering

On Brookes most recent coaching call, I heard her say to a woman something along the lines “I’m curious if your using this problem as a form of buffering”.

How can you tell if your using a “small” problem as a form of buffering?

I seem to “think” I have issues with weight, money, my home and relationships. But when I write down the facts of these there is absolutely no problem other than me wasting so much brain energy “figuring” them out.

If this is buffering, do I just notice when I’m thinking about these and then move on to something more intentional?
