I have had my son expelled for a day in the 5th grade. Long story short, he was calling a boy “sus”. In our home “sus” is short for suspicious.

The boy apparently asked him to stop calling him that and he didn’t and the boy was upset. My son later apologized without the teacher or any adults asking him to. This was on Monday.

On Thursday I got a call from the school he was being expelled over that because its a derogatory term. I had no idea what it meant until I went to urban dictionary and neither does my son even today.

I am angry -very angry- with how the school handled this and hoping for some help here to get some room here to get some perspective. TIA.
