sweeteners in drinks


Hi! I struggle with overeating and as I drink a lot of sweetened beverages throughout the day (not with sugar, but with stevia or artificial sweeteners) I often ask myself whether I would have fewer cravings and urges if I skipped the artificially sweetened drinks and only drank unsweetened tea, etc. But although I currently don’t want or plan to give up those drinks forever, only for one month (for testing), I find it extremely hard to abstain from sweetened drinks even for such a short time like one month. Only thinking of giving them up for one month makes me feel restricted. I don’t know why because I tell myself it cannot be that hard to abstain from something only one month and everybody can do this…
Could you have a look at my models please:

C: I am not drinking sweetened beverages from September 9 until October 10
T: I don’t really want to give up those drinks because most probably abstaining from them won’t reduce my cravings and urges
F: restricted
A: I continue to drink those beverages
R: I will never know if I have fewer cravings/urges without sweeteners

intentional model:
C: I am not drinking sweetened beverages from September 9 until October 10
T: I am curious to find out if I have fewer cravings/urges without sweeteners
F: excited
A: I abstain from sweeteners from September 9 until October 10
R: Finally I find out if sweeteners impact my cravings/urges
