I have been using the urge jar – at times loving it and at times hating it at other but learning LOTS about my brain and my excuses. Wow.
I notice that sometimes I consciously give into urges (eat out of protocol) and wonder if it would be useful to take a bead OUT of the jar when I do so. Is there any good reason NOT to do this? I haven’t experimented with it yet.
The thought I have when I give into an urge and eat outside of plan is something like, “I’ll resist eating the NEXT time I have an urge”… it feels like filling the jar isn’t enough of an incentive, but maybe if I took beads OUT, I would see so clearly which habit is “winning.”
