Tangled ball of thoughts

Hi Brooke,
Any advice on untangling related thoughts that feed into one another? For example, negative thoughts about my husband that lead me back to negative thoughts about myself (and back again), all of which lead to unwanted behavior on my part. Is it just one model at a time? Treat each thought individually and run models on each? Is it helpful to run models on each thought even if they more than one thought inspires the same action?
